Christopher P. Michel
President

Chris is the President of Affinity Labs, a company focused on building a global network of world-class, online communities. Founded in 2006, the company is led by an experienced management team, initially backed by the Mayfield Fund and Trinity Ventures. In 2008, Affinity Labs was acquired by Monster Worldwide (Nasdaq:MNST), the nation's leading careers company.

Prior to founding Affinity Labs, he founded Military.com, the nation's largest military membership organization. Military.com connects its over 10 million members to the lifelong benefits of military service and provides public and private sector clients efficient access to the military market. Members trust Military.com for career, education and financial services. Founded in 1999, Military.com raised over $30 million from leading investors and strategic partners, including A&E Television Networks. In 2004, Military.com was also acquired by Monster.

Chris also served as a Naval Flight Officer in the United States Navy. While on active duty, Chris flew as a P-3 Navigator, Tactical Coordinator and Mission Commander in support of maritime interdiction operations in the Red Sea, NATO enforcement operations in the Adriatic, and counter-narcotics missions in Central America. Following his operational tour, Chris worked in the Pentagon as Aide to the Chief of the Naval Reserve.

An advocate for those who serve, Chris is a frequent speaker and has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Business Week, Financial Times, and others. He is also a regular guest on CNN and other national radio and TV programs. In addition, he is the author of The Military Advantage (Simon & Schuster 2006).

Chris serves as a Director of Dale Carnegie and Alliance Health Corporations and is a Governor on the USO World Board. He's also an active investor and advisor in a variety of digital media companies.

Chris earned his commission from the NROTC program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with high distinction and was named a Distinguished Naval Graduate. He also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Curtis Atkisson
Vice President of Finance & Operations
Curtis Atkisson is Vice President of Finance and Operations at Affinity Labs. Curtis has joined the founding team of Affinity Labs after devoting five years to corporate entrepreneurship activities for UAL Corp. Most recently at UAL Corp., Curtis served as Vice President Finance & Treasurer of Ameniti Travel Clubs and MyPoints.com, two independently run subsidiaries. He oversaw all finance and accounting activities for these two fast-growing and profitable companies. Curtis assisted in the successful sale of MyPoints in April 2006 and of its ownership interest in SmartDM in January 2005. Curtis joined UAL Corp.’s United NewVentures team as a Principal in May 2001 where he built the financial plans from the ground up for a nationwide coalition loyalty program with a major credit card association. As Senior Principal, he led planning and financial analysis for UNV, whose sales had grown to $1 billion and developed business such as united.com, Mileage Plus third-party mileage sales, and United Cruises.

Previously, Curtis worked at JP Morgan Chase as Vice President-Risk Management, Global Markets Officer, and Associate Corporate Finance. He advised Treasurers and CFO’s on the management of interest rate, currency, and equity risks and earlier assisted in the raising of capital in the automotive and trucking industries. Curtis also worked as a Research Assistant on the banking industry at the U.S. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Curtis has a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Stanford University.
William P. Harbin III
Vice President of Products
Will is responsible for all product, design, engineering and content efforts at Affinity Labs. Previously, he was part of the team responsible for restarting Netscape Communications Corp. where he led product management for the Netscape Browser and was responsible for various patents and increased market share by 50%.

Prior to Netscape, he founded MD Drinks, Inc (d/b/a Function Drinks) a maker of all natural physician developed functional beverages. He also founded Media1st, an e-learning provider responsible for numerous innovations in online education, and served as Vice President of Research and Development. He has also held positions at Yahoo, Internet Security Systems and Radiant Systems.

Will currently serves on the board of directors for MD Drinks and BountyUp and is an advisor to Flock. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University.
Eric Kim
Vice President of Marketing
Eric is responsible for building the community membership base at Affinity Labs. Eric spent the prior seven and half years as part of the core team that built QuinStreet from ground up to over $150M in revenue. At QuinStreet, he played many roles including leading and building the Marketing organization and pioneering QuinStreet's analytical approach to online direct marketing.

Prior to QuinStreet, Eric was a strategy consultant at The Monitor Company, Michael Porter's consulting firm, where he worked on and led projects throughout Europe in multiple industries, including Energy Production, POS systems, Medical Devices, Media and Beverages. His last project at Monitor was working on Economic Development and Country Competitiveness in Lebanon. Eric has an MBA from the College des Ingénieurs in Paris, holds 2 Masters degrees from MIT in Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Policy, and has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Steve Fox
Editor in Chief
Steve Fox is Editor in Chief of Affinity Labs, where he oversees content for a burgeoning number of online communities. Prior to joining Affinity Labs, Fox was Editor in Chief of InfoWorld Media Group, where he was responsible for editorial strategy, day-to-day operations, and content for the organization's IT-focused Web site, an executive event series, and a weekly magazine.

Previously, Fox was Editorial Director for CNET, where he oversaw content, staff, and strategic direction for the world's largest tech-review Web site. He joined CNET from PC World, where he held numerous positions, including Editor of the magazine and Editor in Chief of PCWorld.com. In 1996, he became the founding Editor in Chief of The Web Magazine, a monthly consumer print publication that also launched the successful Webby Awards.

Before relocating from New York to San Francisco in 1990, Fox held positions at Omni magazine (where he was Managing Editor for four years), Popular Mechanics, and the IEEE. He graduated from Yale University with a bachelor's degree in English.
Andy Markham
Director of Engineering
Andy is responsible for leading the technology development and innovation efforts for Affinity Labs' product line. Andy bring over 15 years of experience with technical operations, software engineering and product development for companies across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Affinity Labs, Andy led the professional services and engineering teams at enterprise software company Pivia (acquired by F5 Networks).

Prior to Pivia, he was part of the startup management team of RelevantKnowledge, and was instrumental in the company's merger with Jupiter Media Metrix and subsequent IPO. At Jupiter Media Metrix, he oversaw technical operations during their global expansion into 15+ countries, assisting in generating revenues of nearly $40 million. He also held several software engineering and product development roles at Nortel Networks. Andy holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mathematical Science from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
